What is a home stay?

Your dog goes to stay with a dog loving carer and lives in the comfort of their home, as part of their family. A home from home for your dog.

The dog carer will look after, feed and exercise your pet as instructed by you.  All carers are at home for most of the day to give your dog walks and company and to give you peace of mind. Some carers have a cat or dog of their own so you can choose whether or not your dog would like a companion.

Can I see where my dog will be staying?

Yes. This is an essential part of the booking procedure. You and your dog will visit the carer in their home. It is important that pet, owner and carer are happy with each other. Also, this gives your dog a chance to explore the new surroundings so that he will be more familiar with them when you drop him off.

Will the carer let my dog off the lead?

When you complete our booking form you can select whether your dog must be kept on the lead or if he can be allowed off at the discretion of the carer. (eg only in Richmond Park).

You will need to supply food for your dog as well as treats, bowls, bedding, leads, towel, brushes, toys & anything else to make your dog feel at home. If your dog has special dietary or medical requirements, please give us full details.

What is the minimum length of stay?

Does Pet Nanny accept all dogs?

No. Some of our carers are happy and able to take on more difficult dogs, however, we may not be able to help you if your dog pulls very hard on the lead, chews furniture or is aggressive, out of control, or not house-trained.

Please be honest about your dog’s problems and we will try to help.
